Metal Prints-Dye Sublimation Creation/Durability and Cleaning
Even though metal prints have been around for years, most people are seeing beautiful metal prints for the first time, especially photography-printed on what looks like "Glass". It has become a game-changer in the art world and how people now see color.
Vibrant Colors:
Through dye-sublimation printing, images will be infused into a specially coated sheet of aluminum in either a High Gloss, Mid Gloss, or a Satin finish. The metal print will now display an incredibly vibrant print, most noticeably in the High Gloss and Mid Gloss. Satin will be more diffused and less vibrant.
High Resolution & Perfect Clarity:
Printed using world-class large-format printers, all-metal prints will display the clarity and resolution of the original image in amazing detail.
Unparalleled Durability:
Whether in an office or a home, a custom metal print will fill your house with wonderful colors and bring back those enjoyable memories! With infused ink, the print is designed to resist scratching and fading and retain its clarity and true colors for years to come. With proper placement and care, the metal print will last for many years.
Care and cleaning guidelines:
You should only use a non-abrasive, lint-free cloth to dust, remove fingerprints and liquids. A window cleaner without ammonia or alcohol should be used to remove splashes and all other things that do not belong on the metal print, such as dirt (if hung outside), airborne particles, etc.
No metal prints should be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time. Having said that, the surface and color of metal prints, in particular, will outlast canvas and paper prints provided you use the guidelines mentioned in this section.
Surface Reflection and Lighting Recommendations:
The aluminum surface, especially High Gloss, will have more glare, but on the upside, it will accentuate detail and vibrance more than the Mid-Gloss. It's a trade-off and a matter of preference. With full spectrum LED's, the appearance and color rendering will be greatly improved for optimal viewing. You can also reduce glare with proper angle lighting and type of light.
WHY GICLÉE PRINTING?
The term Giclée printing is based on the French word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle", or more specifically "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray".
Giclée printing is a process that uses fade-resistant, archival inks and archival substrates to print on large format printers.
Giclée printing is often used by artists to make reproductions of their original two-dimensional artwork, photographs or computer-generated art for resale while preserving the original.
Image Search Function:
Looking for a particular country? Just put the country of interest in the search function on the home page. It is located on the top of the page with a white box that says search. If I have it, it will list all of the images that I have pertaining to that country. I will confess, I have a lot of Italy! I used broad categories instead of individual counties to keep it simple. Most countries only have a couple of images, while only a few countries have many images. I went with fewer categories and decided to lump them by regions, hence the search function to aid your search.
